My favorite Christmas layout of all time has to be the one that is now located at the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, PA. The predecessor to this layout was located at the old Buhl Planetarium in Pittsburgh, PA and, as a youngster in the 1950's, it was part of our annual trek into town to see the Christmas decorations and the animated department store windows and a visit to the Santa Claus in every toy department of every one of the big three department stores in downtown Pittsburgh. As for the layout, its holiday schedule has expanded over the years and there are a number of months both preceding as well as following Christmas during which the layout may be viewed, and it is worth every moment one can spare to view it!
